Hello! My name is Jocelyn Allan and I have the privilege of teaching 4th grade at Bishop. I have always wanted to be a teacher and in 2005, I graduated with my degree in education. During my studies, I especially fell in love with teaching reading, so I later pursued a Master’s Degree in Literacy. When I am not in the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my family; my husband, three young children, dog and cat! I also love to travel, read (mostly upper elementary novels and picture books lately!), take walks, and discover new favorite restaurants.
Fourth grade is such a fun grade to teach - I love both the age level and the concepts covered! In fourth grade, we are working on becoming independent, responsible learners. At this grade level the children begin to understand how important it is to apply things that they have learned from their past teachers to the new ideas we cover. As teachers, we all work together to make sure our students are successful.
The best way to contact me is through email. Please contact Mrs. Gonsalves in the office if it is an emergency or last minute change as I may not be able to get that message during the school day.
